On Saturday 4 April 2009 from 2-4 pm, Laila will be speaking about Sydney’s public buildings at the Sydney Mechanics School of Arts. The other speakers will talk about Sydney’s war memorials and the city’s early women architects.

Mark will be speaking at the very same place, but on a different date and time about a week later – this one is a lunch time talk on Tuesday 14 April 2009, from 12.30-1.30 pm. He will be talking about the history of Darlinghurst and its journey from hoity toity seat of the gentry to its current reputation as gritty inner-city suburb.

The Sydney Mechanics School of Arts is located at 280 Pitt Street & both talks will take place in the Mitchell Theatre. More info here about the SMA: http://www.sydneymsa.com.au
